FAQ
Can I use 20mm rope for tug of war?
Yes. 20mm is the most popular size for junior school kids. 28mm+ tends to be the most popular size for secondary school kids and adults. 32mm is the official thickness for competition standard. See more in the Tug of War category.
Will it burn the skin when pulling?
It depends on the material. We suggest using a rope that is fibrous or texturised like Manila, Sisal or Synthetic Hemp. This will allow you to better grip and reduces the chance of your hand slipping and burning.
However, if enough pressure is applied it is possible for hands to slip and burn with the most textured rope. You could wear gloves to protect your hands if you are worried about burn.
